Search Tips

The Evangelist's search engine runs individual words first and phrases second. Typing st. henry's church will return all of the articles that contain one or more of the terms "st.", "henry's", and "church." (3988 results)

Putting quotes around a proper name, event, or place greatly increases your chances of finding the right result (e.g., "st. henry's church," with 17 results).

More recent results are always found at the top of the page.

Boolean search terms such as AND & OR are not supported by the Evangelist search engine. Instead, to make sure that a specific word is always included in your search topic, place the plus (+) symbol before the key word in the search box. To make sure that a specific word is always excluded from your search topic, place a minus (-) sign before the keyword in the search box.

An example of this: "st. clare's" -church will ignore all articles referring to St. Clare's Church, and "st. clare's" +church will require results to contain the word "church."

By typing an * within a keyword, you can match up to four letters. Example: Try wish* to find wish, wishes, or wishful.
