At Immaculate Conception parish in Glenville, the Graces ministry is offering Catholic religious items for free, from CDs to medals and statues. To donate, call SIMONE MCGUINNESS, (518) 399-9506. On Feb. 5, the Rosary Altar Society had a meeting and program on identity theft, and also celebrated the 60th Anniversary of the society at Immaculate Conception....

On Super Bowl weekend (Feb. 3-4), "Geoffrey the Sophisticated Grizzly from West Hoosick" joined parishioners of Immaculate Conception in Hoosick Falls after Mass and offered predictions about winter and the Patriots vs. the Eagles. He also shared candy with children of the parish....

On Feb. 4, for "Seeking God Sunday," people in religious life visited Corpus Christi parish in Round Lake to speak with young people on "how to think about and decide your life's vocation." Youth in grades six through 12 and young adults under age 30 were encouraged to attend.

Corpus Christi is planning its annual fashion show, to be held June 9 at The Vista at The Van Patten Golf Club. The theme is, "Fashion to a Tea." To donate raffle items, contact MAUREEN BITTEL, (518) 877-7984.

Corpus Christi also has a new bookkeeper, MELISSA MCCANN, and plans a Feb. 11 "Social Sunday" for young people, noting: "Bring Your Nerf guns! Bring your foam bullets! Get ready to hunt down your friends and leaders. Extra points for shooting ROBERT [PALYO], our small and quick-footed seminarian! Please bring snacks to share"....

The St. Martin de Porres Society at St. Joseph's parish in Greenwich offered a tongue-in-cheek invitation in the parish bulletin: "Does the thought of wearing a hair shirt for the sake of penance strike you with fear? Looking to reduce your time in purgatory, but don't know where to start? Let us help! For just a few hours a month, you can offer your humble acts of vacuuming and dusting the chapel, sacristy and sanctuary altar space to the Lord. As an added bonus, opportunities to pray quietly in front of the tabernacle and singing out loud from the choir loft are included. Intrigued? Contact KIM WHELAN, whelanfamily12823@gmail.com. No penitent will be turned away!"...

First- and second-graders at St. Kateri Tekakwitha School in ­Schenectady offered heartfelt prayers: "Dear God, I like the way you watch over me. Please keep me and my class safe. Help us to be loving and kind and always caring for each other. Help us to follow you and Jesus and Mary and Joseph by doing good things so we can get Act Like Jesus tickets....We pray for all the people in heaven, especially Uncle Dan, Grandpa, Grandma, Malia and Aunt Kitty. We hope that they help you look over us. We also hope that they are helping you take care of all the pets in heaven....Please look out for all the elderly and those who are living with sickness and disabilities, especially Miss Moran's cousin, Martin. Help them live long, happy and peaceful lives....Help us take care of the churches and get more people to visit the churches. When we are at church, please pray with us and everyone in the world....Please watch over children and babies, including those that aren't born yet. Keep them and their mothers and fathers away from harm and healthy....Our teachers help us learn. Let them continue to help us learn about you, God, and show us how to be better people....We pray with joy to God. Amen".....

St. Mary's parish in Glens Falls had "Mardi Gras Mania," a mini-retreat for middle schoolers, Feb. 3, with games, music, snacks, fun and a refresher on Lent. Senior NATE KROEZE was named The Chronicle's athlete of the week from Glens Falls High School....

St. John's in Valatie is having a "Dress for Less" sale of new and gently-used dresses and accessories for special occasions Feb. 17 and March 3, 10 and 17, 11 a.m.-2 p.m....

St. Michael's in Troy boasts that, in the past year and a half, its social media ministry designed a new parish website; videotaped and posted the reading of the Gospel and the homily from Mass every weekend; established accounts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube; and contracted for a smartphone app on which they post the weekly bulletin and send alerts. The social media ministry meets on the first Wednesday of each month.
