St. Joseph's in Broadalbin has begun hosting a "golden era of country, gospel and folk music jamboree from 3-8 p.m. the first Sunday of each month to "promote a communal spirit for seniors to share their talents with other players and provide entertainment for all fans of music." There are potluck meals and a "house band" to back up those who wish to perform but don't play an instrument....

Immaculate Heart of Mary parish in Watervliet blessed its flag and flagpole for Veterans' Day; the Rosary Society had a veterans' breakfast that weekend....

Our Lady of Victory parish in Troy is selling a glass ornament for $20 with the Christmas star and parish name etched into it; the funds raised will offset the cost of books and programs purchased for adult faith formation....

At Holy Trinity parish in Cohoes, the knitting and crocheting ministry is creating gingerbread man ornaments for the homebound for Christmas....

The Women's Auxiliary at Christ Our Light parish in Loudonville had a "turkey raffle and mystery auction" to benefit its food pantry. The parish prayer shawl ministry offered a session between Masses for adults interested in learning how to crochet or knit....

Holy Spirit parish in Gloversville formed an outreach committee to ensure the continuation of its Community Helpers Store, which offers clothing and household items to people in need; and its Friday's Table ministry to provide hot meals on Friday nights and includes volunteers from the parish and area civic organizations....

St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph's in Rensselaer plans to replace the roof on its parish house, where offices can be relocated....

St. Francis of Assisi parish in Northville and St. Joseph's in Broadalbin have been selling memorial candles for November that include photos and names of deceased loved ones. The parishes also had a potluck dinner for the 17th ordination anniversary of their pastor, REV. JUN SEGURA; a polka dance; and a Rosary for the care of creation....
