Our Lady Queen of Apostles parish in Frankfort and Annunciation in Ilion wished a happy 95th birthday to MARY CAIOLA and a belated happy 97th birthday to GRACE CARDINAL. At Our Lady of the Annunciation parish in Queensbury, it was a happy 90th birthday for THOMAS MCGRATH....

The Daily Bread food pantry at St. Luke's parish in Schenectady is now a GE Matching Funds program. GE employees' or retirees' donations to the pantry will be matched by the GE Foundation (call 1-800-305-0699 or register online at www.gefoundation.com). PEG ANDERTON and JIM MCCAFFERTY worked through the process of becoming eligible for matching funds....

St. Paul the Apostle parish in Hancock repaired its church organ with help from parishioners and repairman LEO CORVINO. Parishioners also donated toward purchasing a few pyx for ministers of communion to the sick and homebound. The parish lending library has new books and audio CDs on spiritual topics, and is accepting donations. MARY ANN HUNTER, who for many years coordinated bringing communion to homebound parishioners, has handed off the reins to LINDA KULIKOWSKI....

St. Michael's parish in Troy asked for donations of American flags to fly at the parish. Some flags are given to parishioners at the funerals of veterans, so replacements are needed. Flags that become worn will be disposed of by the honor guard at the Gerald B. H. Solomon National Cemetery in Saratoga....

Forty-two years ago, St. Mary's parish in Oneonta welcomed the nine members of the Tran family from Vietnam. Then-pastor REV. BOB ROOS and SISTER MARION ADAMS, PVMI, coordinated the parish's sponsorship of the family with the properties committee and the parish council's human development committee. Sister Marion, now living in Iowa, has kept in touch with the Trans and let parishioners know that the mother of the family, MARIA NGAN THI TRAN, died in January at age 94....

The prayer and meditation class at St. Henry's parish in Averill Park is offering to "adopt a medal," taking in people's extra religious medals and rosaries to find them new homes and inspire prayer.
