Deacon Paul M. Davignon
A funeral Mass will be held Feb. 13 at St. Matthew's Church, Voorheesville, for Deacon Paul Davignon, who died Feb. 5. He was 74.
A native of Rhode Island, he taught religion and world languages for more than 40 years at Christian Brothers Academy in Long Island and at St. Cecilia's High School, St. Aloysius Academy and Dwight Morrow High School, all in New Jersey. Ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of Newark, N.J., in 1978, he served in New Jersey and New York parishes, including St. Matthew's in Voorheesville.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Maryann Postava-Davignon, former secretary for the diocesan Offices of Prayer and Worship, Ecumenical and Vocations; children, Laure-Jeanne Davignon of Knox, N.Y.; Christi-Anne Plough of Wayland, Mass.; and Dr. Marielle Aimée Postava-Davignon of Bangor, Maine; two granddaughters; and a brother, Robert.
