A Mass to mark Catholic Schools Week nationally, held in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C., will be broadcast live on EWTN Jan. 29 at 12:10 p.m. The Catholic University of America and Dominican House of Studies and the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) will participate, as will students from Archbishop Carroll High School and St. Anthony's School, located near the CUA campus.
Albany's Academy of the Holy Names just welcomed six students from China, launching an international student program. The freshmen and sophomores will remain at AHN for the duration of their high school education, living with host families. The students hope to be accepted into top American colleges and universities. AHN will welcome additional students from China in September.
The deadline is Feb. 1 for the "Try Prayer! It Works!" Contest sponsored by Family Rosary. Students in kindergarten through grade 12 can express their faith through art, poetry and prose; this year's theme is, "Joy to the world," focusing on what the Nativity means to students.
