NOTICE TO BIDDERS -- ALBANY COUNTY
REQUEST FOR BIDS

Sealed Bids for REMOVAL, DISPOSAL AND INSTALLATION OF NEW FOOD SERVICE EQUIPMENT as requested by Albany County Correctional Facility will be received by the Albany County Purchasing Agent, Room 940, 112 State Street, Albany, New York 12207 until 11:00 AM, local time on Thursday, May 22, 2008. At this time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud and an award made as soon thereafter as practicable.
Any Bid not received and time stamped by the Albany County Department of General Services, Purchasing Division by 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 22, 2008 will not be accepted.
Bid specifications may be obtained at the office of the Albany County Department of General Services, Purchasing Division, Room 940, 112 State Street, Albany, New York 12207, by the prospective Bidder or his designated representative. 
A $100.00 deposit and a $5.00 service charge are required for each set of bidding documents. Two checks, one in the amount of $100.00 and the other in the amount of $5.00, shall be made payable to the Albany County Director of Finance. The $100.00 deposit will be returned to those bidders and non-bidders who return the bidding documents, unmarked and in good condition, within 30 days of the bid opening. 
A 5%Bid Security and a 100 % Performance Bond will be required. BID SECURITY SHALL BE INCLUDED WITH BID AT THE TIME OF BID OPENING OR BID SHALL BE REJECTED AS MATERIALLY INCOMPLETE.
A PRE-BID CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD ON Thursday, May 8, 2008 AT 9:30 a.m., AT Main Lobby of Albany County Correctional Facility, 840 Albany Shaker Road, Albany, NY 12211. This is the only scheduled conference. Interested bidders are strongly urged to attend.
The Purchasing Division shall keep a record of all prospective Bidders obtaining Bid documents. Any Bidder not on record as having received Bid documents from the Purchasing Division shall not be considered for a Bid award.
Albany County reserves its right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any and all informalities and to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive or conditional Bids.
Minority Business Enterprises and Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to respond.
