The annual interfaith commemoration of Kristallnacht will be held Nov. 14, 7 p.m., at The University at Albany's Page Hall. The event is sponsored by the Holocaust Survivors and Friends Education Center, the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, and UAlbany's Judaic Studies program.

Kristallnacht, the "Night of Broken Glass," occurred Nov. 9-10, 1938, when the Nazis attacked against Jews in Germany and Austria. Hundreds of synagogues and businesses were destroyed, and 30,000 Jews were sent to concentration camps.

Speakers at the upcoming event include Holocaust survivors and members of the interfaith community, including Catholics DEB RIITANO, JOAN A. LIPSCOMB and JOAN M. LIPSCOMB. There will be a screening of the film "The Zookeeper's Wife," about unsung heroes of the Holocaust. Call the Jewish Federation at (518) 783-7800 and see www.jewishfedny.org.
