A funeral Mass was offered June 12 in the chapel of the Convent of Mercy, Albany, for Sister Arlene Boyd, who died June 9. She had been a Sister of Mercy for 59 years.

A native of Watervliet, she taught at St. Joseph's, St. Teresa of Avila and Blessed Sacrament Schools, all in Albany; St. Mary's, Ballston Spa; Annunciation, Ilion; and St. John's Academy, Rensselaer. She served on the leadership team of the Albany Sisters of Mercy and spent 36 years in ministry in Anchorage, Alaska, founding McAuley Manor for homeless and troubled teenage girls and serving as a religious education director at the parish and diocesan levels.

Survivors include her siblings, Sister Sharon, RSM, and Raymond of Waterford. Interment was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
